REBA RELATED
Cherokee Steakhouse
The meat is hard to beat at this dockside restaurant, which has been getting it right for nearly 50 years
Floaters and boaters on Old Hickory Lake have long known about Cherokee Steak House, just south of where Highway 109 bridges the water on its way to Gallatin. There on the shore, diners have buried their incisors in juicy steaks since 1958, and little it seems has changed since then.
The restaurant is part of the greater Cherokee Resort, which includes a marina and cabins. And getting there is like running a strange country music gauntlet. Once you turn onto the dock road, you'll marvel at the estate on the left — that's Reba's spread — lit up like a park at night. A few more yards down the road, you'll marvel at the trailer park you pass through before you reach the marina complex. It's a strange juxtaposition.
