Reba's "Somebody" moves to #1 on Billboard

This week Reba's "Somebody" becomes her 22nd #1 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart. With this chart topper, Reba breaks the record for longest span of #1 hits by a female country performer. Reba's string of #1 hits stretch from October 2, 1982 when "I Can't Even Get The Blues" went #1 to "Somebody" on July 26, 2004- --that's 21 years, 9 months. In Radio and Records, "Somebody" moves to #2 and earns the #1 most increased song in points and plays.

With a new #1 single and a successful album, Reba responds to these accolades as well as her absence from the country music scene for the last few years in an article that appears in Country Weekly’s August 3rd issue, on stands now! She says, "There's something about being away from the politics and the routine and the grind of the music business that ended up being refreshing to me. By getting away from it all for a while, it all feels fresh and new again. The people in country music have been very good to me," she raves. "Country music has put food on my family's table for years. You just don't forget something like that."

Reba’s summer tour goes international this week with two stops in Canada, before heading back to the USA on August 7.
